The Cleveland WISPA classic is the pinnacle professional squash event in Cleveland. Lasting six days of competition, the squash gallery transforms into an auditorium for elite athletes. There are 28 competitors from all over the globe travel to The Cleveland Racquet Club to compete, 16 different countries and 6 continents were represented last year! As well as great squash on show, sponsors get a chance to partner the Pros in a Pro Am doubles, junior and adult play the pro clinics also take place during the week.

For the past five years, the Cleveland WISPA Classic has steadily grown in stature on the Women’s Professional Squash tour. Last year as a tour gold 50, we attracted a draw which consisted of 13 of the world’s top 15 players. World number one, Nicol David, headed the strong field, but it was surprise finalist, Laura Massaro, who ended the week holding the trophy aloft, ending a 14 month unbeaten run for David in the process.

On January 27th to February 1st 2012, we will once again see the world of WISPA on the courts at The Cleveland Racquet Club. We are registering as the same tour gold 50 level as last year which will once again attract all the world’s top women’s players to Cleveland. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the early rounds. For the semi-finals and finals there will be a small ticket charge for non-patrons of the event which will go towards the tournament charity, Urban Squash Cleveland.
