ADULT DOUBLES LEAGUE
On Thursday nights at the CRC we have a social in house doubles league. There are up to four matches each week, two being played at 5:00pm and two at 6:15pm. There is a maximum of 16 players for the night and signups are on a first come first served basis.
The way the league works:
An e-mail is sent out on Monday each week to determine who from the list is available to play each week. Number playing is 16 max. Later in the week the match ups for Thursday night and the time and court you will be playing on are sent out. There will be a 5:00 time slot on court 5 and in the basement, then a 6:15 timeslot on court 5 and in the basement. We will only use the basement when we have more than 8 players.
If you know you are available or only available at a certain time slot, please let me know by Tuesday night each week. First come, first serve if we have more than 16! If we don’t hear from you, you will not be included in a game.
Each player will have a handicap for both walls. If you lose 2 matches running, your handicap will go up. If you win 2 in a row, it will come down much like a golf handicap. The players combined handicaps will determine if a team gets a head start for the first game. The team that wins the first game will then start the second game two points worse off in the next game as a further handicap. Each game won or lost after this will result in a 2 point swing.
e.g.
Team A combined handicap of -6 and team B a handicap of -4.
Team B starts 2-0 up first game. If B loses game they start 4-0 up second game. If they were to lose again it would go to 6-0 in the third.
Each match will be best of 7 games to 11 points with a sudden death at 10-10. If the match is not completed by the end of the time slot, the winning team will be the leading team at that point.
Please be on time for your matches as another game will be following you on in the early times.
If reserves are needed we can draw from the other time slot.
The handicap list is posted on the squash notice board.
