I have been playing tennis at CRC since I was 13 years old, and a member since age 16 (first as a family member, and then an adult member). The Club has been a cornerstone of my health and physical fitness, and a bastion of sanity. If I had to cut back on my lifestyle, the CRC membership would likely be the last luxury to go. As a squash player, I could speak volumes about the high caliber of the squash program and community, and the instructional savvy and professionalism of those who run it. As a former (largely former, at least) tennis player, I can say with great confidence that CRC is the finest tennis club in Cleveland, and one of, if not the best tennis, club I've been to anywhere. The CRC staff is delightful and dedicated, and a great many of the Club staff members have been with us for as long as I can remember. Most important to, are the many great friends and close friendships that I have developed at CRC over the years.

We would be delighted to offer a personal testimonial on just some of the reasons why Sally DeFrancesco, my wife, and I chose to join CRC.

We wanted a club in a convenient location, making it accessible and easy to use. From our home in Moreland Hills the club is approximately 3 miles away.

Additionally, CRC is geared toward families making it a perfect venue for our 19 year old daughter to have lunch with her college friends, our 17 year old daughter to enjoy the pool with her friends while enjoying the snack bar, and my 14 year old son to learn squash and paddle tennis.

It’s nice to know that they can socialize in an environment where etiquette and good taste are still appreciated and observed without the rudeness and lack of decorum commonly found in the public sector. What parent doesn’t want their children exposed to an environment that promotes young gentleman and gentlewoman?

The CRC is also a good place to strengthen family bonds; whether, working out together, enjoying an informal weekday dinner, or something as simple as enjoying a soda while watching a match. This is an essential conduit to keeping closely connected with our children and spouse.

Indeed, the CRC is an extended family in many ways where people are bound closely by the similar passions and values and CRC members can meet their friends and fellow club members in private venues that value the sanctity of personal relationships and take great pride in being respites from the hustle and bustle of daily life. At a time when there is so much stress in daily life, CRC offers a welcome respite to socialize or even a place for quiet solicitude if you desire. If I don’t feel like being active, grab a book, a cup of coffee and sit by the pool and relax. The CRC offers social contacts, a sense of neighborhood and community that affirms your own values.

We also appreciate the little nuances at CRC like the warm and familiar greeting from the locker room attendant or how the hostess knows you are “trying” to eat light and makes appropriate menu suggestions. This personal service results in a level of happiness and contentment that goes a long way.

Further, we have found CRC to be a very effective venue to host business conferences. A private venue, personalized service, and centrally located off of I-271 and Chagrin makes for an efficient and cost effective venue.

As you would expect in a private venue, the CRC is always meticulously well maintained; I always admire the thorough attention to housekeeping, landscaping, and even more subtle nuances as freshly brewed coffee and ice tea readily available for the member’s enjoyment.

The inside and outside tennis courts and facilities are top notch and are replete with heaters, water coolers, practice tennis ball machines, and the tutelage of outstanding tennis pros.

My son and I have gravitated toward squash. I find that by participating in the Box Leagues and tournaments I always have many readily available and willing opponents to play with and my son enjoys squash lessons with the two of the best pros in the world.

Finally, the CRC is an excellent value in private club membership. Membership costs differ, but individuals and families shouldn’t assume the CRC is out of their price range. Once you join the CRC it doesn’t take much to offset the fee and truly benefit from the myriad of benefits described above.

Very Sincerely,
Adam & Sally DeFrancesco
